TITLE : ASSISTANT COORDINATOR—SACRAMENTO NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Answer telephone; identify needs of caller and direct call to appropriate person/department. Take accurate messages.
- Greet guest and maintain a visitor sign in list and complete daily attendance report.
- Answer questions about Center services and programs, or refer inquiries to Coordinator.
- Provide administrative support to Coordinator.
- Actively collaborate and cooperate with other community-based organizations to develop, maintain and provide appropriate activities at the Center.
- Schedule activities, avoiding conflicts and update daily activity board.
- Research available services, as requested by Coordinator.
- Coordinate use of the facility for groups, organizations, and individuals interested in using the facility for group meetings, activities and classes.
- Make community-use application and policy available to the public.
- Publish and distribute a bi-monthly community newsletter.
- Develop a network of volunteers.
- Provide on-site orientation and supervision of volunteers.
- Foster the establishment and growth of a Neighborhood Council that will plan community events and oversee Center operations.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the Neighborhood Council as directed by Coordinator.
- Develop programs and activities initiated by the Neighborhood Council.
- Collect data for evaluation, such as satisfaction surveys.
- Update community resource contacts bi-monthly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years related experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Dependable and able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends hours.
- Valid driver's license, clear driving records and access to a car preferred.
- Basic understanding of support staff.
- Experience working with the public.
- Excellent communications and public relations abilities.
- Enjoy meeting and working with all people. Exhibit pleasant personality.
- Possess a positive, helpful, can-do attitude.
- Demonstrate excellent English skills in written and verbal communication.
- Ability to produce, save, retrieve, produce a basic newsletter, calendar and print files in Microsoft Office.
- Able to operate telephone, PC, copier, and other basic business machines.
- Able to meet U.S. Department of Justice requirements for Employment Eligibility Verification.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Understand and implement the Minimum Standards of Licensed Child Day Care Centers (Department of Social Services, Commonwealth of Virginia)
Treat each child with dignity and respect, recognizing and considering the individual needs of each child in relation to cultural and socioeconomic background, handicaps, special talents and interests, style and pace of learning; communicate effectively and appropriately with the age group assigned;
Provide a nurturing atmosphere for the children demonstrated by interacting on child's eye level, sitting on the floor with children, providing appropriate physical contact for comforting and reassurance;
Follow all procedures and requirements to assure the safety of the children in the assigned environment;

REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma; progress towards Child Development Associate (CDA) and two years early childhood experience.
Able to communicate effectively in English with staff and parents both verbally and in writing.
Within 90-day introductory period, completed CPR and first aid training, or present proof of CPR training within past year and first aid training within past three years. Update CPR training annually and first aid every three years.
Must have a clear Virginia Central Registry check as dictated by the Code of Virginia 63.1-198.1. In addition, there must be a clear finding for other criminal offenses in the Virginia Criminal History record for not less than five years prior to date of service.
Receive an annual negative report of TB screening prior to starting date.

TITLE: BEL Center Classroom Aide
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide a nurturing atmosphere for the children demonstrated by interacting on child's eye level, sitting on the floor with children, providing appropriate physical contact for comforting and reassurance.
- Work interactively with children in all activity areas in classroom or outdoors as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Classroom Aides shall be at least 18 years of age and shall meet the general qualifications, health, orientation training, and staff development requirements for the applicable position.
- Be actively working on Child Development Associate (CDA) or related education certificate, using time other than regular working hours.

Computer Learning Center Partnership (CLCP) Site Director
(Part-Time 24 hours per week)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise Center staff, to include work-study students and volunteers.
- Develop and deliver classes in a variety of applications to improve student proficiency in computer usage.
- Monitor the progress of all enrolled students, conducting assessment tests for those entering the program and regularly evaluating student’s progress.
- Conduct a variety of outreach activities to the residents to encourage attendance at the Center.
- Provide monthly attendance records and progress reports to the CLCP Manager.
- Make recommendations for program improvement to the CLCP Manager.
- Maintain an appealing, safe and clean environment in the center.
- Cultivate ands maintain positive relationships with property managers, resident councils, volunteers, parents of the children who attend and CLCP council members.
- Plan periodic “open house” demonstration classes for stakeholders and parents of the children who are enrolled.
- Keep abreast of education technology, trends and innovations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduation from an accredited college/university and pertinent experience in community based programs and/or related fields and one year relevant experience with computer utilization.
- Ability to coordinate the development and teaching of a variety of classes in computer usage.
- Cultural awareness to successfully interact with diverse population.
- Ability to install, configure and maintain equipment, computers, internet connections, software, scanners, etc.
- Must be a team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide intensive case management services to participants in programs.
- Collect and disperse funds following UCM procedures, maintaining appropriate records.
- Work with participating agencies to develop comprehensive individualized service plans for participants.
- Work with program participants using social work ethics and methodology to achieve goals.
