Bridge Housing Program
Bridge is a short-term transitional housing program for
homeless, single adults who have mental health and/or substance abuse
issues. The program is funded under the
Fairfax/Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB). UCM has a contract
for 20 hours a week to provide case management for the clients and the
CSB is to provide weekly mental health services to clients. The program
helps clients to build the skills and financial stability to bridge the
gap between homelessness and a stable living environment. The program
currently serves six people.
The goals of the program are:
(1) Clients will achieve residential stability in order
to
alleviate homelessness—they will obtain mental health housing or other
independent housing
(2) Clients will stabilize their source of income and save 50% of all
income
(3) Clients will improve stability by increasing their
self-determination
