SUPPORTING UCM

Ways to Help Overview

UCM prides itself on operating very efficiently.  Currently, 90% of every dollar that we raise goes directly into our programs and services.  One way we are able to keep costs down is through in-kind donations from individuals and businesses in the community.  For example, the more food that is donated, the less we need to purchase.  Additionally, we collect many different types of items that our clients need in order to become self-sufficent.  Please see the following list of items currently needed.

CLIENT NEEDS:
We desparately need: cereal, pasta, beans, canned meat, fruits, and soups, tomato sauce, Mac & Cheese, baby wipes, baby food, baby diapers, gift certificates to local grocery stores and cash donations.

OFFICE NEEDS:
For the youth program: Paint, slipcover for a couch, games for Playstation, Playstation 2, television, stereo, children’s encyclopedia, children’s dictionary.

For the front desk waiting area: donations of books and McDonald Meal-size toys.

For Janna Lee: television, stereo (with cd player), plates and cups, and small to medium sized table.

For the main office: a new American flag to put on our flagpole; artwork to put up throughout all our properties

For the Back Porch: shopping bags and used plastic grocery bags, bulletin boards.

For more information about any of the above, call Herb Lea, 703-768-7106, ext. 333
